Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) allows a user to switch their network from one mobile operator to another if they are not satisfied with the quality of the service. With MNP You can easily port your mobile number to another network. MNP allows you to hold your mobile number even after you change your network operator.
You can easily port from airtel to any other network operator through the mobile number porting facility (MNP). To do so, the user should send an SMS.
How to Port From Airtel to Jio?
The first step is to begin the process from your existing number which needs to be ported.
- Open Messages
- Type “PORT<space>Your 10 digit Mobile No” (Type Without Quotes)
- And Send it to 1900.
After you’ve sent the message, You will receive an SMS from 1900 that will contain the UPC code and its expiry date (Keep that code safe)
Then go to Your network operator’s retail store where you want to port your number, With your UPC (Unique porting code) Eg, Jio, Vodafone, Idea, etc
Also, take your original Aadhaar card or Original Proof of Address/Proof of Identity documents to place an MNP request. They will do the eKYC process.
Give the code that you have received from 1900 to them, and then they will do the KYC and give you a new sim, And if everything goes well then your new sim will active within a week.
- If you are an Airtel postpaid subscriber, you must clear all your pending dues with Airtel before initiating the porting process.
- if you are porting-in within the same telecom circle, the number will be activated within the next 3 working days
- If you are porting-in to other telecom circles, the number will be activated within the next 5 working days
